About us

Why we’re building Ampersand

Ampersand is integration infrastructure for enterprise agents. We’re on a mission to unlock the power of enterprise AI by building the best integration software that can handle even the messiest systems of record.

The next generation of software needs to work together

  • No two systems of record look the same

We build for that difference instead of asking customers to fit a generic model.

  • The real cost shows up after launch

We think about what it costs to keep an integration running, not just what it costs to build.

  • Production is the only real test

A customer’s live system is not the place to find out that something doesn’t work.

  • Integrations belong in your codebase

Integrations should be version controlled and follow the same release management as the rest of the product.

How we got started

  1. Ayan Barua

    Ayan Barua

    Co-Founder & CEO

We didn’t start here because integrations sounded interesting in the abstract. Ayan co-founded Siftery and led engineering at G2, where he built Track, G2’s SaaS spend and vendor management product, and ran into the same wall on every enterprise deal.

The system that mattered to the customer wasn’t the one the product was built to talk to.

  2. Lauren Long

    Lauren Long

    Co-Founder & CTO

Lauren saw the same problem from the other side. She led the launch of Firebase Extensions at Google. The most popular Extensions were all integrations. But while Firebase Extensions connected with a company’s own systems of record, they didn’t help with user-facing integrations.

Ampersand is the company we wished existed.
